2 July 2026

What role can small businesses play in making the clean energy transition more equitable? In this webinar hosted by The Group of 78, researchers from the Clean Energy for Development: A Call to Action (CEDCA) initiative shared evidence from across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East and North Africa on the role of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in supporting cleaner livelihoods, employment, and entrepreneurship.

Moderated by Bipasha Baruah of Western University, the discussion featured Yasmeen Oraby from the Economic Research Forum, María Eugenia Castelao Caruana from Fundación Bariloche, Leonard Hasu from UNU-INRA, and Nhung Nguyen from the University of Commerce, Vietnam. Speakers explored the barriers facing women, young people and small businesses in clean energy transitions, including access to finance, skills, technology, and inclusive support.
