Clean energy transitions: what changes when we put care at the centre?

Join us for an engaging webinar exploring how clean energy transitions can do more than expand access to power: they can also reduce drudgery, shift how unpaid care work is recognised and shared, and open up new opportunities for women and young people in agriculture, enterprise and renewable energy value chains. 

Drawing on the report Clean Energy Transitions: A Care Economy Lens, the event will bring together speakers from the Clean Energy for Development Initiative and the Africa Cares Together community of practice to share insights from work across Senegal, Vietnam, Burkina Faso, Uganda and Kenya. The speakers will reflect on what their research tells us about women’s time use, access to clean technologies, green finance, household decision-making and the conditions needed for a truly just energy transition. 

Together, they will consider how clean energy policies and programmes can be designed not only for efficiency and productivity, but for care, equity and transformation. 

Whether you work on clean energy, gender equality, climate finance, agriculture, care systems or inclusive development, this webinar will offer fresh evidence and practical reflections on why care must be central to the clean energy transition.
