New from INFoCAT: supporting women and youth-led clean agritech innovations

The INFoCAT project, part of Clean Energy for Development: A Call to Action (CEDCA), explores how clean energy-powered agritech innovations can support women and youth in agriculture across West Africa.
A new report, Promoting Women and Youth-Led Clean Agritech Innovations in Africa, brings together findings from the project’s work in Ghana, Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire.
The report highlights how clean energy technologies are being used to improve agricultural productivity, reduce labour and create new economic opportunities for young people and women. It also identifies key barriers, including access to finance, skills and policy support, which continue to limit the scale and sustainability of these innovations.
Alongside this, the project has supported a range of pilot initiatives and innovation challenges, helping to test and scale solutions such as solar-powered irrigation, processing and cooling technologies in smallholder farming contexts.
